On 8 November 2022, the Roca London Gallery in collaboration with Architects’ Journal hosted a conversation with Rafe Bertram and AJ sustainability editor Hattie Hartman.
Rafe Bertram is Joint Interim Head of Climate Action and Sustainability at the LB Enfield where he works to embed sustainability and resilience across the borough, including Enfield’s £6 billion 25-year Meridian Water regeneration programme. Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, Rafe is implementing a strategic vision for the 85-hectare site which includes sustainable transport, green infrastructure, circularity and the retrofit of 160,000 homes to meet Enfield’s net zero by 2040 target. A former partner at Foster + Partners where he worked for 18 years, Rafe is a Public Practice alumnus and joined LB Enfield in 2019. He recently undertook a deep retrofit of his KentishTown home.
