Roca London Gallery are pleased to be hosting a topical discussion on how modern methods of construction (MMC) can be utilised in an ever-developing sector, to meet the needs of the housing market. Harbinder Birdi (Birdi & Partners), Jo Love (ADP x Love Interiors), Demos Ioannou (Pocket Living) and Adam Rothwell (John Sisk & Sons Ltd) will be discussing if MMC encourages more efficiencies through the early stages of concept, right the way through to on-site completion. If this is the case, why are we seeing so many modular housebuilders struggling to stay in business, despite the need for more homes in the UK?
What interior and architectural design challenges need to be considered and overcome, to make the best use of modern methods of construction? With pressure on the UK housing market and an ongoing labour shortage across the industry, is volumetric construction benefiting the design and build of our major towns and cities, or is traditional still the best and only way forwards?
Doors will open at 18:30, the talk will start around 19:00.
