Ever wanted to show your work to a Pritzker Prize winning architect? Well here’s your chance!

Entries are now open for the 10th edition of jumpthegap®, Roca’s international design contest. With an expert jury of renowned professionals including 2014 Pritzker Prize winner, Shigeru Ban, the competition is open to students and professionals from the worlds of architecture and design. Over the previous nine editions of the contest, there has been over 26,000 participants from 150 countries. This year’s winners will be awarded from a prize fund of €17,000, with all finalists having the opportunity to present their ground-breaking projects at a series of public roundtables that will continue into 2022.

Entrants are challenged with creating innovative and radical solutions for the bathroom space that address and advance the goals set out by the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In response to these goals, a new feature of the competition is the introduction of four categories: Wellness and Health (designs that deliver new levels of comfort and peace of mind for users); [Un]neutral design (solutions that ingeniously and meaningfully address the bodily diversity and the wide range of capacities displayed by human beings); Water and Energy (designs that promote a smart and conscious use of planetary resources); and Crisis and Emergency (designs that tackle issues with the help of flexible, feasible and replicable materials and technologies).

Participants are invited to submit their designs from now until 3 June either individually or in groups of two. The winners will be revealed in a virtual ceremony on 6 July. For further information on how to enter and to see previous winners visit: https://www.jumpthegap.net/

Best of luck!
