The Architects' Journal
In collaboration with The Architects’ Journal, Roca London Gallery was delighted to host a breakfast panel discussion on Thursday 5 May. As part of the discussion, AJ100 Sustainability 2021 Initiative of the Year winner Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios presented FCBS Carbon, the practice’s whole life carbon calculator. Presented by associate Tim den Dekker, the tool enables designers to take informed decisions about embodied carbon prior to detail design.
This was followed with presentations by three panellists as to how they approach using the tool in practice and focusing on how architects can reduce the embodied carbon in the buildings they design.
The three panelists were:
- Mina Hasman – Associate Director Skidmore, Owings and & Merrill
- Rachael Owens – Head of Sustainability Buckley Grey Yeoman
- Anna Beckett – Associate Webb Yates
